Fourth Vehicle Emissions Testing Self-Service Kiosk Opens in Chicago
New Illinois Air Team self-service emissions testing kiosk at 3101 S. Pulaski Road in Chicago.
As part of the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s effort to make vehicle emissions testing more convenient for Chicago residents, the Agency announced that a fourth self-service emissions testing kiosk is now available at 3101 South Pulaski Road in Chicago.
The new location joins three existing Chicago kiosks at 6959 W. Forest Preserve Drive, 2560 W. Cermak Road, and 9901 South Martin Luther King Drive (at SOS).
This self-service kiosk allows motorists to test their own vehicles 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an alternative to visiting a traditional inspection station during business hours. The kiosk is designed to be easy to use and requires no special knowledge of vehicles or emissions testing.
Prior to visiting at a kiosk, motorists can watch an online instructional video (viewable in English or Spanish) demonstrating how to complete a self-service emissions test. Upon arrival at a kiosk, on-screen audio and visual instructions, available in English and Spanish, guide motorists through each step of the testing process.
When an emissions test is completed, motorists can print their vehicle inspection report at the kiosk or visit the Illinois Air Team website, www.illinoisairteam.net, to download a copy.
